What is an odds payout calculator?
An odds payout calculator tells you exactly how much a bet returns before you place it: your total payout (stake plus winnings), your profit on its own, and the implied probability behind the price. Type the odds in decimal, fractional or American — whatever your bookmaker shows — and it does the maths instantly.
How to use the calculator
Enter your stake
The amount you want to bet.
Enter the odds
Decimal, fractional or American — any format.
Read your payout
Total payout and the profit on its own.
Check the value
Return % and implied probability of the price.
How is a bet payout calculated?
Everything comes from one formula, using decimal odds:
Total payout = stake × decimal odds
- Profit (winnings) = payout − stake = stake × (decimal odds − 1)
- Fractional → decimal: divide the fraction and add 1 (3/2 → 2.50)
- American → decimal: positive: (odds ÷ 100) + 1; negative: (100 ÷ |odds|) + 1
So a €10 stake at 2.50 returns €25 total — €15 profit plus your €10 stake back.
Payout examples across formats
The same €10 bet, priced three different ways — identical payout:
| Odds | Format | Stake | Profit | Total payout |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2.50 | Decimal | €10 | €15.00 | €25.00 |
| 3/2 | Fractional | €10 | €15.00 | €25.00 |
| +150 | American | €10 | €15.00 | €25.00 |
| 1.50 | Decimal | €10 | €5.00 | €15.00 |
| −200 | American | €10 | €5.00 | €15.00 |
Payout, profit and value
Two prices with the same payout are not always equally good bets. The implied probability shown by the calculator is the number that matters for value: if you believe the true chance of your selection is higher than the implied probability, the odds are in your favour. Frequently asked questions
- How do I calculate a bet payout?
- Total payout = stake x decimal odds. For example, EUR10 at odds of 2.50 returns 10 x 2.50 = EUR25 total (EUR15 profit plus your EUR10 stake). For fractional odds, convert first: 3/2 = 2.50 in decimal.
- What is the difference between payout and profit?
- Payout is the full amount returned to you, including your stake back. Profit (or winnings) is just the amount you gain: payout minus stake. A EUR10 bet at 2.50 has a EUR25 payout but a EUR15 profit.
- How do I calculate winnings from American odds?
- Positive odds: profit = stake x (odds / 100), so +150 on EUR10 wins EUR15. Negative odds: profit = stake x (100 / |odds|), so -200 on EUR10 wins EUR5. The calculator does this automatically — just type the American price.
- How do I calculate payout for fractional odds?
- Fractional odds like 3/2 mean 3 profit for every 2 staked. Profit = stake x (numerator / denominator); total payout adds your stake back. EUR10 at 3/2 wins EUR15, for a EUR25 payout.
- What does implied probability tell me?
- Implied probability is the chance the odds suggest: 1 / decimal odds x 100. Odds of 2.50 imply a 40% chance. If you think the real chance is higher than the implied probability, the bet has value.
- Does this work for each-way or accumulator bets?
- This calculator covers single (win) bets. For multiple bets that combine several selections, use an accumulator calculator; the payout here is for one selection at the odds you enter.
